Your minimum weight for your height is around 112, maximum weight - no more than 130. You could stand to lose about 15-20 lbs., but don't obsess with it, you're not fully matured yet physically, so a lot of that weight will shed right off when you're in your sophomore year. Try eating slower, this fills you up faster so you're not taking in anymore than your body needs. Take small bites and set your fork down between each one. Drink a glass of water before meals so you don't eat as much. Exercise, exercise, exercise!!! You have to be active in some kind of sport, or join a gym with a personal trainer to help you with your specific needs. You're beautiful just the way you are, but if you don't feel good about your weight, you're the only one that can do anything about it. Good luck!

you sound like another me, except i am 5"3.I try to drink a lot of water, and go outside and play basketball or something. I have a lot or muscle, no exscuse, but i am very athletic. I am a girly girl but i can get dirty in a game of good old b-ball. I would concetrate more on maintaing your weight where you are now instead of loosing. diets on and off only slow your metabolisim down, and the best diet that worked from me was the atkins diet, but, nannys good cooking messed that up. I have tried all the diets, and am still overweight , so keep what metabolism you have. If you just go hang with your friends , go to the park and walk with them. you can talk and everything, but you will still be enjoying your time with your friends. If you want you may go to your doctor,he/she, will tell you the best thing for YOUR BODY.Don't try and starve yourself, or take pills, or any of that stuff. Be happy with yourself, I know sometimes we look in the mirror , and may be a little disapointed, but there is a reason you are that size. God does have a plan for both you and me. well, I hope I helped a little bit, and take care, and God bless!

Yes, you are overweight. A healthy adult 5'2" female with a large frame should be no more than 143 lbs., and adult females should have more fat than teenaged ones. However, limiting food intake is not the right solution because a teenaged body needs a lot of nutrients to develop properly. You won't feel it now, but not eating properly can result in problems much later in life.

I've had a lot of success with losing weight by changing the items I eat instead of how much I eat. I think I eat more now than ever before, but I eat a lot of natural foods (fruits, vegetables, unsalted nuts, lean meats, eggs, brown rice) and I drink only filtered water (no soda, not even juices, which have too much sugar). I've lost about 30 lbs in about a year by changing my diet from fast food (my favorites were Burger King, Wendy's, and Taco Bell) to natural foods.

My doctor, however, was worried that I lost so much weight so quickly without exercise, but my blood tests and blood pressure are doing fine anyways. I know I should exercise as well (since I still look just as fat and haven't needed smaller clothes in spite of losing weight), but I still need to figure out a way to work that in.

So, yes, you are overweight. However, you probably shouldn't eat less. Chances are that you probably need to eat better and exercise more.

It appears that you are overweight. This doesn't make you a bad person though, perhaps just an unhealthy one. This can be changed though! If you type in "adolescent BMI calculator" into google, you'll find lots of resources to help you identify what a healthy weight for your age and height would be. When I looked, I found that you should aim for about 127 pounds. However, remember that you are undergoing a lot of growth changes, and a lot of people your age still have growth spurts to go through, so you may not want to focus on "losing weight," rather, it would be much better to focus on "getting healthy."

To verify whether or not you are overweight, visit the following website to calculate your BMI (Body-Mass Index):

http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/index.htm

I've done it for you, and your BMI is approximately 32. This means you are overweight. Here is the first paragraph of information (there is an entire page more of instructions on what you should do about it):

Based on the height and weight entered, the BMI is 32.0, placing the BMI-for-age at the 98th percentile for girls aged 14 years 2 months. This teen may be overweight and should be seen by a healthcare provider for further assessment.

Girl stop!!!! Don't even start putting yourself down or anything like that. First thing you need to do is be happy with yourself the way you are right now because no matter how much weight you lose if you are not happy with yourself you will always see a problem. Then you should get yourself checked. You may be healthy for your weight and height so go to an unbiased professional. They will tell you what you need to know then what you need to do.

yes, you are a little overweight. You should try be around 115-140lb. Take more walks and eat less. The key is burning more calories then you're taking in. Get active! After a few months you'll start to notice great results.

Yeah, you are overweight. You need to lose about 40 pounds. Don't do anything nuts, but you really need to look at what you are eating. A diary can help with that. Get your daily calorie intake to around 1500.
