who is running for governor of FL on the Democratic ticket?

I have seen an ad for Charlie Crist, R., but I haven't seen anything for a Democrat.

Also, does anyone know of any unbiased newspapers I can subscribe to in Central Florida?

The Orlando Sentinel seems to skew right, so I would appreciate any help or suggestions you can give me.

Have a good night all. :)

(yes, this is really me, not an imposter. Just trying to avoid those "violation notice" emails.)

Nice try, Amy, but Gallagher is the other Republican running.

G'day Professor Chaos,

Thanks for the questions.

The two Democrat candidates for Governor are US Representative Jim Davis of Tampa and Rod Smith of Alachua. It seems that they are concentrating their efforts in South Florida because of the concentration of Democrat votes and money there.

There are other candidates as well including:

* Glenn Aldine Burkett
* Carol Castagnero - Retired teacher, member County Citizens’ a watch dog group over DCF (HRS).
* John M. Crotty
* Roger Alan Hoover
* Phillip J. Kennedy - Perennial candidate
* Monroe Lee - Architect, 2004 candidate for Alachua County Board of Commissioners

Tom Gallagher and Charlie Crist are the Republican frontrunners in the race.

Early voting starts on August 20 with the primary on September 5.

I have attached additional sources for your reference.

Regards

Tom Gallagher is running for the Democrats, I believe. Shame we can't keep Jeb around.

The Sentinel skews right? Are you nuts? Why, because they actually publish "Mallard Fillmore"?

You'd be happy with the Daytona Beach News Journal, I think. That's way left of just about everything, including CBS.

Edit:
hey, I had to try, didn't I? Welcome to Big Red.
