Possibly Zane Grey. He died in 1939. They are still releasing Zane Grey books today, his son found some unpublished and some unfinished manuscripts and these are the ones coming out now. Harper & Row had exclusive publication rights to his books at one time and since he was so prolific, they were still publishing 1st editions 20 years after he died.

The only western writer that comes to mind is Zane Grey.

The only Western writers I can think of are Zane Grey and Louis L'Amour.
