Whatever you do, please please make sure it is pointing away from your eye or anyone elses eye, there is a serious danger with jammed bb guns popping people's eyes out. Also stay away from hard surfaces do it in the open, because pellets have a tendency to ricochet of surfaces and that's when you are people around you (unfortunately even pets in my case) lose eyes.
And if it wont cock, a pellet is either jammed inside or the mecanism/spring is broken, and so I think you need a new BB gun...but that was a phase of mine a long time ago and after a series of accidents, one in which i nearly lost my eye, I realized just how dangerous they were and now only use real guns LOL :P....at the shooting range though. Shouldn't own one.

perhaps a bb is stuck in it remove the butt of the airgun then you can get to the main spring that works the lever check it out see if its jammed i had a red rider bb i loved it i used to take them wooden stick matches and cock the bb gun then slide them down the barrel and shoot them at brick walls and they would light it was cool or killing birds by the hundreds with bbs man i had a blast i wiped out entire populations of birds in my area in my day

you might want to check for the spring in the cocking chamber. and don't shoot your eye out.( you knew these would coming the shoot your eye out jokes).
