If all you had to do was press a button to alert the police, would you press the button to alert the police and have the police come right away or would you keep quiet without involving the police?

I would just keep walking like nothing was happening, I dont like the pigs and I dont want to help them out any by calling anything in. I dont care if one guy had a gun and the other was bleeding to death I would just keep walking I dont want anything to do with the cops.

Within close but not lethal range, I would raise my voice and ask if either of them had children. If this gets their attention, then I ask them who's going to watch them tonight because the police may already be on their way...
After the surprise of the question wears off , you can generally gauge very easily if intelligent life is actually in front of you, or just a single- celled amoeba whose last sip of beer was stolen from his dixie cup at the park bench.

I wouldn't press a button to alert the police over a fight. If your talking violent threats , weapons, gangs fights...yeah i would report it...

It depends. If each guy was holding his own I might keep quiet. But if one guy was really getting his butt kicked I would get the police. Are you making a connection with this and people reporting things on yahoo???

id press the button there is too much violance in the world today and its giveing are kids a bad example. i watch the news all the time and every time i turn it on a cop ha gotten shot at in a car wreck because of someone of someone has been killed and all kids of things.. tenn is not a good place

There is no need to worry about that, there is always one noisey concerned citizen out there that runs to the phone to call the cops, so I will just sit and watch or hell, just about with my business, hell it isnt me fighting.
