Rock bands have weird names like Nine Inch Nails or Panic at the Disco because it helps get fans attention. If people hear of a band with a weird name, they become interested and want to know more.

Nine Inch nails are a bunch of junkies, let's leave them out. Panic at the disco are not a rock band, they're indie.... with bad haircuts.
And by the way, who else agrees that 50 Cent is a "mind blowing" intelligent meaningful name?.. njtsarcasmjy
Edit:
And well, I didn't answer the question, I don't know, I guess if you can shred at 90nps you can call yourself whatever you want..

An original or unusual name makes the band stand out, ideally enough to attract the attention of listeners or even producers. The name may reflect something about the kind of image they want to project as well. You'd expect different music from "The Rembrandts," for example, than from "Iron Maiden" or "System of a Down."
Trivia: The Barenaked Ladies chose their name for the explicit purpose of attracting drunk guys to their shows. As one person said, "There's two things wrong with the name of that band."

Rock and Roll has been around for over half a century, the need to be creative with their names and the stranger the name, the more curious people get about the group. And besides the good ones are taken.

Just off the top of their head, but it is possible they found inspiration from some experience or something they read, it may have a meaning to them that no one else sees - or it could just be a clever quirk to make them stick out! its all about making your mark man!
Im a media studies student, but I didn't need a degree in advertising to know that adverts are made unusual on purpose, because if you understand it at the time: you won't think much about it later, but if you didn't understand it at the time, you'll spend time trying to figure it out, or talking to other people about it and spreading it: LIKE YOU'RE DOING NOW XD! THE MEDIA WON BABY!

I am single mum. I have been suffering for panic attacks for some 15 years now, though it was not until recently I understood what they were. They were progressively getting stronger and more frequent, stopping me from some days even leaving my house. I read this book and it all made perfect sense.
I am not saying I was not terrified of putting theory to action, I was more scared of that than the next attack! But I decided to view it as a game, one I had control of and could therefore not lose!

I don't know. Why do most country bands name themselves after only one member of the band. Oh yeah NINE INCH NAILS refers to the size of the nails used to crucify people. ie Jesus Who cares as long as the music rocks.

Most of the time a bands name has a special meaning for them. I think that sometimes though the reason they have such outlandish names is just to get your attention..........And they did. Think about it if you were going to be in the spotlight and wanted to stay that way you would have to have something to grab the public attention first then you would have to work at keeping their attention.
