has anyone ever had them as pets and what the heck do they look like?

Sea-Monkeys exist in suspended animation inside their tiny eggs for many years. They are a species of brine shrimp, known by the scientific name of Artemia NYOS, The Sea-Monkey's name is based on the creature's funny behavior and long tail. Sea-Monkeys grow up to be between 1/2 to 3/4 an inch in length during a 4 week period and last about 2 years

When I was a kid, a long time ago, you could order them from ads on the back of comic books. When they arrived, it was some type of material that swelled when water was added, probably a sponge, and they bobbed around in the water until my mom made me throw it out. As far as I know there really is no such thing......

My girlfriend used to have some. They are actully brine shrimp.

they are brine shrimp.they sort of look like a tiny comb with its tine sticking up-ward.

go to www.seamonkeys.com they will tell u all about them. if u have them good luck. oh and if they die let the water evaporate and re fill it they should come back.
