That depends on a lot of things. First off, is your brother still alive? If not, are there any living relatives who know of his infantry, unit, regiment, or whatever? If not, do you know what sector of the military he served with (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines)? If you have that information, you can call or write to whatever military sector, provide his full name and date of birth, and tell them that you are his brother/sister and want to know where he was stationed. If you know his unit/regiment/etc., you can look up the veterans chapter and see if they can help you find out.

This should be a start. Let me know if you find out more information, and I can help you further.

do you have his former mailing address? in case of usmc it was probably an fpo, fleet post office san francisco, but would have had 1st marine div, or 1st marine air wing, with the squadron for the wing or battalion for div. perhaps you could write headquarters marine corp.washington d.c and ask at that time where was the unit? You could write Leatherneck magazine and ask them or former marines who read the magazine. i have looked at the magazine at borders book store now and then.the other marine corp magazine is marine corp gazette, not as widely read except by officers.
