Here's a typical scenario in Mexico. A building partially burns down. Typically in the U.S. the building is raised rather promptly. However, in Mexico that building will remain in the same condition 10 years later. Mexicans as a culture have have a relatively low amount of drive and ambition compared to Americans.
Want an example? Just drive down to towns in Baja such as Rosarito and Puerto Nuevo - commercial buildings that have been damaged remain in that state for years.

I TOTALLY DISAGREE with you. Just because they dont raise their buildings fast enough doesent mean that they lack AMBITION! It means that they lack the money. America has PLENTY of money and workers but its not so in Mexico. If you go to tijuana....there are so many little children running around barefoot with torn up stained clothes trying to sell you bracelets and candy so that they can have something to fill their stomachs with. Your question is very ignorant and VERY disrespectful. You shouldnt talk UNLESS you know the situation those people are in. I am sure you have NEVER EVER in your life had to feel the pain of hunger, feel the cold at night, to be sick and yet have no money to go and buy medicine for a simple cold, to not buy a pair of PAYLESS shoes, to wear the same shirt day after day, to drink dirty water from the gutter, to be looked down upon to wake up EVERY morning knowing that your children might not make it another day. Dont be so damn ignorant and dumb. DO NOT SPEAK WHAT YOU DO NOT KNOW. DO NOT SPEAK OF WHAT YOU HAVE NOT FELT YOU IDIOT!

Disagree. You cant tell that a nation has a lack of ambition based on their buldings.

There are a lot of commercial buildings that are damaged not only in Mexico and sometimes cant be fix because the OWNER of that building dont care..... but one person can represent one nation?

I went to Canada last month, i took a trip in bus so i cross many usa states and some were clean and some were "dirty", and im talking about the bus stations, some streets, etc., and i cant say that americans dont have ambition because of that.

I completely DISAGREE!!!!! I have known many Hispanic families who have came into California from Mexico and they are the HARDEST working people I know. They are willing to work for pennies and they work HARD!!! I don't know where you get off saying that the ENTIRE MEXICAN population is lazy based on the fact that there are buildings falling down in Mexico, but take a look around buddy, America has plenty of delapitated buildings and I know that I sure as hell am not LAZY.

Your comparing apples to oranges. The burned building likely wasn't insured and there were inadequate governmental services around to put out the fire without payment first. We don't know the particulars other than the fact that the building is in an area where the people have little or no money. We cannot judge a peoples motivation by the type of government they have. If we did, would we not be considered worse because we allow babies born within the US to become citizens while their fathers can be considered illegal aliens?

Disagree. You cannot determin that a culture as a whole lacks ambition because of their buildings. The conclusion that you could draw for a portion of the society would be the lack of finances to do someting about the condition of the buildings. You cannot determin that mexicans are ambitionless. I am part mexican and i own my own business. my grandfater came to this cuntry and started his own electric company. he retired 5 years ago. he came here to make something of himself and succeded baised on his ambition. I am trying to make someting of myself and work hard to do so. Please do not put all mexicans in the same catagory. just like whites and blacks, mexicans differ from person to person. what is true for one may not be true for the next

Unless you consider hard work to indic0ate a lack of ambition, I would agree with you but, inasmuch as I have observed them for many years, they do work that no locals will do. Not that it doesn't pay enough, the work is just too hard. If a good picker can pick enough avocados to make $150.00 a day, you know it isn't the money that is keeping the locals away.

Maybe all the Mexicans who have ambition are busy making their way to the states so that they can make something more of themselves.

Ambition, intelligence, resources and dedication to a better life from the populace are are required to move a country to a higher level. When a country's standard of living and quality of life remains consistently low and is only supported by external aid it is a good indication that the populace lack the will to improve themselves by their own efforts. Illegally immigrating to another country to take advantage of their welfare programs is not an indication of personal ambition.
