That is common. Just remember, boys will come and go, but friends are forever. Don't lose touch with your friends because of a boy.

This is classic. Misery loves company. If she doesn't have a functional or passionate or loving relationship of her own, she is bound to be preoccupied with everyone else's. Maybe she's feeling lonely, you're the only person she has spent most of her time with and she is jealous because he has taken over her time slot.

You are going to have to let her know that there are special things that happen with you and your boyfriend that she simply cannot do. And no, this isn't limited to sex. We all desire that manly presence in our lives, those of us who are heterosexual. There are things you and your boyfriend can talk about that won't feel the same if you talk with her about them. At the same time, there are times when you enjoy just being with her, your friend, and he, as a man, can't fill that space.

As we grow in life, our hearts tend to take us in the direction of finding a life partner. Your girlfriend just can't be that person. She needs to learn to understand that.

Singles and couples tend not to hang out together very often for a reason. It can be a bit lonely for single people to watch happy couples; it reminds them of what they don't have. I'd recommend not hanging out with your boyfriend and your single friend at the same time.

Well that's normal. Confront her and tell her that she's your friend and she'll always have a special place for you and nothing can replace that, but you need time with your boyfriend because he is special and makes you happy too. Don't forget all about your friend. Make some time for her. No one likes being or feeling replaced or forgotten.

I had a friend that acted like that one time. She was my best friend and I didn't want to hurt her feelings so I invited her to come with a few times. When she found out that she really wasn't missing as much as she thought she was she didn't bother me as bad. If her friendship is important to you, invite her alone every once in a while. What can it hurt?

I'm sure she can't help it. If you guys have been friends for a long time it is only natural that she will miss the time spent with you. Just give her time to adjust to the situation and she will come around.

Make sure that you're not ditching her because you have a b/f now. Give her some of your time, then tell her to respect the time you want to spend with your b/f too.

Tell her that you are uncomfortable with the situation and that you might have to rethink your relationship with her if she doesn’t direct her energies elsewhere. She is too close to home to be allowed to be in a position to ruin your relationship. Be reasonable, but firm with her.
