My daughter, Justice, is 10 years old now and many people compliment her on her name. I am pregnant with my 3rd girl and she is dying for me to name her Liberty;-) Although Justice isn't a really common name I don't think I would name my daughter Freedom. To me that really doesn't even sound like a name, but maybe it does if you say it enough. I mean if you were yelling to her in a crowd/playground it would just sound like you were on the warpath or something...like a 'freedom fighter'. Practice yelling Freedom a few times and see what you think;-) Best wishes!

It is a beautiful name. I know a girl named Sunshine and everyone sings you are my sunshine to her. Freedom would have c and c music factory for her song at least.
on the downer.do you really want her to be know as being "Free" when she starts dating? Kids are cruel and could just call her "dom". Give her an easy middle name she can use in case the teasing gets too bad. I had a difficult name and the ribbing was harsh sometimes. My middle name was too old fartsy. I made up my own nickname. Give her options in case it doesn't work out.

As someone who works a lot with kids, I can think of oh so many ways she would get picked on. It would be a wonderful middle name though. I love Justice or Liberty. Libby or Justi would be much better nicknames than Free or Dumbie or Ding-Dong let Freedom ring.

I don't know about that one. I think it is a current trend to name kids unusual names. But that is not even a name. I can't imagine a kid liking that name either. It's good to have a unique name, but when it starts getting too unusual, thats when you need to rethink what your doing. Remember she is going to have to have it the rest of her life. And people cheering for her at a soccer game might sound like they are reinacting a Braveheart scene.
I'd atleast stick to something in a baby book.

To be frank, it's pretty bad. It sounds trashy. I grew up with several kids with names like Star and Moon and Princess and they all hated their names and hated their parents for saddling them with such awful names. If you love your child give her a normal name. If she wants to be called something original, she can make up a nickname that she likes when she's older.
My mother in law once told me that when choosing names for children, imagine how the name would look on a lawyer's office and if you'd trust a lawyer with that name. Then imagine that name outside s strip joint and see if it sounds natural. Freedom sounds more like a pole dancer than a lawyer.

i dont really like freedom... i really like something like faith, or destiny... danielle is also pretty. arizona is cute... but of course its not my baby it is your's. so whatever name the 2 of you agree on there must be a reason for it, and the reason makes the name all better. So congrats and good luck. Again, whatever name you pick im sure it will be perfect!

No she will get made fun of. If you want a patriotic name, Liberty or Justice sounds better.
