Brace yourself. I am now about to unleash my Myspace Wrath. You have been warned.

I used to have a myspace, and now I hate it with a fiery passion. You get really random people asking to be your friend, which would be okay if they actually were interested in getting to know you or reading your blog. But no...these people mostly just want to accumulate names for their own friends lists. Time and time again, I have seen many users with hundreds and hundreds of people on their friends lists, most of whom they don't even know! It's a pathetic way to make yourself look more popular.

I also hate those stupid local bands who friend you because they want you to listen to their shitty music. There's a function where you can turn off these sorts of requests if you don't want them, but I didn't find this out until I had left myspace, and by then I was so fed up with it that I just didn't care anymore.

The only reason I got one in the first place was because of the blog function, and because a few of my college friends had them. I hated it right away, but decided to give it a chance in case I changed my mind later. I didn't. I dreaded updating on the thing, and I hated that the blog was relegated to a small corner of the page. The friend requests from bands were the ones that REALLY provoked my ire. (This is to say nothing of the accusations of pedophiles/sexual predators on it, because I've never had that problem, but frankly, it doesn't surprise me that other people do.) Finally, after about five months on it, I just up and quit, because I didn't want to deal with it anymore.

I am done with myspace. I regret ever getting one, and I'm glad I left.

Personally, I favor Friendster more but I DO NOT hate Myspace. I just find the Myspace interface "too much" and I guess it's too crowded now... not to mention too many high school (or middle school?) kids. It's just that I think there'a lot going on in Myspace and it's all too much for me. I should have said that earlier, so yeah, I don't hate it.

Its like disneyland for sexual predators. Back in the time you actually had to scout out a territory, pick up on patterns of people, plan an escape route, risk analysis. Now with myspace its just like "Hey I like Fallout Boy too, come over to my place and we'll listen to some records."

I don't mind the social/community aspect of MySpace, but personally, the pages some people put up are not only horrendously tacky/ugly, but they also loop annoying music.

There is nothing wrong with it. It is kids using it in the wrong way. I only "allow" people that I know and I keep in touch with high school and college friends and family. It's been a wonderful way to stay in contact.

I dont like it cause it sucks, but other than that it beleave its an incasion of privacy. also leaves kids open for anything, in meaning a pervert comes by, sees this girl is only 14 and messages her, 3 weeks later there meeting somewhere and next thing you know shes been raped, Unsafe and not worth it.

It's a simple case of ignorance being bliss.. There have been predators who've stalked young people on there so, the rest of the world thinks that those are the only kinds of people who use it.
Of course, a lot of those who have that opinion are anti-tech weenies, sooo, what are ya going to do?

With almost no censorship and an appeal to minors, it has become an attractive hunting ground for pedophiles and other perverts. That's what's so wrong with it.
