Go to start menu, accessories, systems tools, then select "disk defragmenter" this provides more space onto your computer by making the files take up less space. it does NOT harm your computer at all, I've done it myself, and it does NOT delete anything just simply frees up space.
You can minimize it and go on the internet while you wait or even leave it there until it finishes the process. basically you wanna get rid of the red and make it into blue.
Another way to have more space on your computer is after defragmenting it, you can go to "disk cleanup" and select the internet files that take up a ton of space. i recently did this, and my memory went from 16% to 35% so it basically doubled up my space.
If you do these things, it'll clear up space and hopefully your computer will be able to run a bit faster.

Decrease its random memory ( delete files u do not need ).
Replace processer with better one.
Go to Disk Defragmentor and defragment the disk ( this should arrange data in better and more efficient way http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defragmentation ).
Thank you.

Adding memory should help. If you know what kind of motherboard you have then you can try to overclock it if you have enough cooling. For info on overclocking, see http://www.webopedia.com/DidYouKnow/Computer_Science/2005/overclocking.asp and http://www.hwupgrade.com/overclock/cpu/
But adding memory is much safer, and not very expensive. You should probably try that first.
