I'm thinking of going there, what's it like? What are some cool places there to visit? What is the cost of living and the job market like? Thank you for any info.

Why yes I am! Born and raised, thanks for asking!
You will find fewer places more beautiful to live. Summers without darkness, fishing that you have only dreamed of, winters that remind you what it's like to sit in front of a warm fire sipping hot chocolate and watching the snow fall. Good schools, plenty of shopping and recreational opportunities. World class skiing.
Friendly people, good jobs, plenty of places to see within driving distance, world-class concerts, entertainment, and restaurants. The Northern Lights on a cold and clear winter's night will leave you stunned or in tears, or both. No snakes, scorpions, alligators, hurricanes, or tornadoes. Moose outside your window right in downtown Anchorage. We like to say Alaska is God's country. It is amazing here. And we are only 2.5 hours from Seattle if you like to take weekend vacations, at Alaskan wages you can afford to. Not to mention the Permanent Fund Dividend (every resident gets a check every year). you could read... "In to the Wild", its a good book that describes Alaska pretty good, but i looked into it too, and from what i understand thats where alot of people go that are running from something since it is the end of the road for america and it is so away from everything, so i herd that their is alot of bum's that live there and crazy people, so i decided against it, but if you go there im pretty sure they will give you a house and pay you to live there, that is just all hear say though, but good luck and watch out for the hippies that live in the woods ( im not kidding, unless the author of the book is a liar) good luck...
