Of course. We are born with a conscious...and unless it is faulty through illness...it allows you to know right from wrong. Your conscious is your inner guide to help you make good choices for yourself...and it is given to us to help guide us into spiritual enlightenment. I call it a moral compass that is built into us. Some religions practice within their dictates or concepts according to their teachings...and isn't always moral. Sometimes it leads to war and judgment imposed upon those who do not believe as they do...so it isn't always a good moral barometer for what is acceptable in human behavior. Let your conscious be your guide.

Yes, morality does exist outside of religion. Also, having religion does not necessarily make a person moral.

Yes. People know right from wrong whether they believe in God or not. Think about this-people both inside and outside of a church do wrong. For some racists, rapists, theives, and murderers, religion is just a false front. It makes them look good on the outside but it doesn't hide who they are on the inside. Religion is not a cloak for morality. It doesn't protect it, although it might shelter those who do wrong. There are plenty of people outisde of a religious organization that have morals. I consider myself to be one. What's sad is that religion exists and survives without morality on occasion.

Yes, because morality basically encompasses notions of right and wrong, and these things don't depend on a specific religion or society. A person can practice no religion at all, and still have a high sense of morality.

yes morality can exist without out religion because religion is more of a guide line which only helps us choose between good and evil.

Yes. It's called humanism, and it was the main result of the revolutions, political and social, following the Rennaisance.
These days you might ask the opposite question. Does profession to religion assure morality?

When you are driving your car and you swerve to avoid hitting a squirrel your using your natural human morals. Religion has nothing to do with that.
Religion is a guideline for thought, but not necessarily behavior.

It's in our nature; we are human beings that understand the differences between right and wrong. And certainly you don't need a religion or a belief. It doesn't matter if you're Catholic, Protestant, Atheist, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Humanist or whatever. These names just catalog people and we shouldn't do that, because we're saying: "You're different from me, I don't like you" or even: "You think exactly like me... let's tease the other ones". These thoughts are wrong. And certainly they don't let us evolve as good persons. I'm not very religious, I just listen to what everyone has to say, and then I make my own conclusions.

Yes. There are many philosophical systems that have morality without religion. Confucianism is one.

certainly, many people are raised with morals (some kind of code the family embraces identifying right from wrong). I'v known many kind and moral people who are not believers.
As a believer, I worry about their eternal life.
