When people say "What's up?" What do you reply?

I hear people reply "Sup, dawg"- but I don't talk like that. Others say nothing much but everyone says that-_-;;
One time I said "the sky" and I was called gay.. and they made up names for me :(
Usually I don't reply to "What's ups" because I don't think they actually expect answers from me. But I feel bad because I feel as if I'm ignoring them.

reply: not much, just chilling, sup dogg,whats cracking with you..

don't say the sky,plane,etc.. :)

Usually I say "nothing" - no matter what I'm doing. It's a ridiculous attempt at opening conversation.

If I'm in the right mood, I reply "the sky" or sometimes "the ceiling" if I'm indoors

i usually answer "the opposite of down" and usually get a weird look and then once the person that asks gets what i mean they sometimes smile

the sky and the ceiling are old jokes... the one I use is, "Don't be lazy, look for yourself."

look up at the ceiling quizzically, then say "hmm... i thought gullible was spelled with two l's."
