Who can give me a reasonable answer?

Question

That it's wrong to be gay? Without using your religious beliefs, because we live in a country that separates church and state and for sake of argument, let's say I don't believe the same things you believe in.
I know this question is getting old, bear with me. As with another question I asked yesterday, I'm having a debate and this is part of it. Just want to know everyone's opinion.
Please try to follow me-NO religious beliefs whatsoever. Use your head, not your religion.
And please, really use your head, for those of you who would make a smart comment about anal sex. I don't partake in anal sex, I know many gay people that don't, so let's try to be intelligent here.

But some people don't want to have children, what about couples who are sterile? Is there something wrong with them? What if I was a straight woman and I didn't want to have children ever, maybe I couldn't stand kids (totally untrue, I love kids and I plan to adopt. I am unable to have children of my own womb, though. So if I was straight, but still unable to have children, would some of you still have something to say?

OMG This is not rocket science-WITHOUT RELIGIOUS BELIEFS, PLEASE!

And I know plenty of gay people who don't have AIDS, and I'm just as sure straight people get it, too. AIDS doesn't discriminate against age, race, or gender.

I am so tired of the perpetuated myth that gay people get and spread diseases. Do you idiots NOT realize that they are spreading faster through the heterosexual communities because these people are told and believe that they are homosexual diseases?!!! The gay people who are portrayed on TV and in the media are NOTHING like the ones I know. Most gay people I know are in monogamous relationships and have been for years. The ones who aren't are just like heterosexual singles. They date, but they're not promiscuous. Straight women often have anal sex. Are they going to hell? Straight men/women have oral sex. Are they going to hell? Sex should be for procreation only. If you are having sex and not in order to have a baby, then you're committing a sin! All these things are listed in the Bible, too. If you say that homosexuals are going to hell, then you're saying these people are too! A sin is a sin! Are you one of those people? Don't judge lest ye be judged. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. You can list all the cliches that you want. It doesn't make a difference. Most so-called Christians commit just as many sins as everyone else! I stopped going to church because I saw so many hypocrites! I am a Christian and I am gay. I am at peace with that and worship Him on my own. You can say that homosexuality is a sin, but then remember, look in your own mirror because I'm sure you've committed your own share!

1. The country is bassed on seperation between church and state.
2. People who are infirtile or who have no intention of having kids are still granted marriage privilleges.
3. There are instances of homosexuality in nature in animals so that argument is bs.
4. Gay marriages have been legalized in other countries so the argument that this is uncharted territory is also bs.
5. You cannot catch gayness. A gay couples children wonn't nesisarily be gay any more than a straight couples children will definetly be straight.
6. It doesn't make straight marriage less meaningfull There are TONS AND TONS of heterosexual marriages that are total crap..

Okay...I guess it depends upon how you define "normal", before you decide if it's "right" or "wrong".

So...it appears to be "normal" for most populations to have something like 8-10% gay segments (depending upon the source of your stats). Anyway, that's for populations at large. If you go no further, then it can't be "wrong" since it's normal for some group of people to be gay in any population. One idea is that homosexuality is an "emergent property" of overpopulated societies. Who knows?

If you go more specifically, and just look at individuals, it get trickier. Clearly, something that causes the psychological components of the human reproductive mechanisms to align for same gender mating is a little...wacky. But, it gets even more messed up-- my wife observes that male gays may be born, but most lesbians are created. May be true-I don't know. In any event, it appears to be an aberration...but a harmless one. I don't see how one can conclude, at this level, that this behavior is anything but "not normal". But "wrong"? I don't believe anyone has demonstrated that in any study or reports I've ever read.

It's a decision that you'll have to make for yourself. You'll have to establish your own rules for determining this. Good luck.

I'm sorry, I don't have an argument for this question. I am gay, always have been, and I have never seen anything wrong with it. I believe in a loving God, and God doesn't make mistakes... but then, you asked for non-religous answers. I had kids, too. So its not unheard of.

I would be really interested to find out what kind of intelligent arguements you can come up with to this question, because for the life of me, I can't.

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with being gay..don't be silly. It does NOT concern anyone but you and your bed partners. Those who tell you it isn't "Natural" have no idea what they are talking about...it is 100% natural, found in about 10 percent of all mammals. Those who tell you you can't make babies, therefore it isn't right...to them I say, does that mean that if you use contraceptives, it isn't right???? Watch them stutter! Duh! Ah! Well! ahhhh! What you do in your bedroom is none of their business, yet they want to make it so. I would love to ask them...'What do you do in your bedroom in sex...all details please!" They will tell you it is none of your business...in fact, they are the first to say that, yet they want to make it their business what you do! These people are less than fools, they are stupid. I know "stupid" is genetic, but ... there is no known cure for it. Sort of like being ugly..non-curable. Gays are God's chosen people..he chooses 10 % of us, gives us great bodies, great brains, great looks. We therefore are able to have more schooling, better jobs, better houses, more money, better cars, better bars, and...we do not have beer guts caused by the beer bottles growing out of the side of our mouths. We actually can think for ourselves, no ridiculous minister spoon feeding us our thoughts. Add to all of this...We can dance! Now, if you were straight, wouldn't you be just a little more than envious of gays? Certainly. Well, that is why they keep trying to put us down..loosing battle, they have lost before the war begins. And, if they continue to act stupid, continue to be more ignorant than most rocks I am familiar with, there is coming a day when they will not have good paying jobs, for Gays hire a lot of straights to do labor. They will, in fact, find themselves hanging on a fence in Texas, tortured and killed for being Straight. They think it is just fine to do this to us, the day is coming soon when...we will return the favor. The problem for them will be ...They have no idea who is gay and who is straight. We do! Gays tend to work out a lot, build very big muscles...it is time we started using them on those who wish us harm. The day is coming quickly. Well, it is against the Bible and You do get aids and terrible diseases when you have "gay" sexual" lifestyle. Why did God create man and woman if he meant for us to have that kind of l\lifestyle? When bodily fluids pass through abnormal channels, it breaks those channels down. IE like having a oral sex. I had a friend that died, she didn't want to get preg and did oral and guess what the Dr actually said at the autopsy that because of her life style helped to lead to her deaf. everyone has a choice.

I'll be short and sweet. No, it's not wrong to be gay if that's what you feel most comfortable with.

Now what is the debate with yourself, whether you are or not? Go with your gut feeling. Try it out and see what happens. In the end, pay no mind to others' opinions which don't matter because they aren't you, and you'll end up choosing which ever way is right for you.

You shouldn't challenge people to an arguement that you know will anger and upset you. Especially when you know that they're not going to use common sense or decency at all.

The best thing to do is move on, there are a lot of people who don't feel that way, you don't have to prove anything to those who do.

Sweetie,some people will have something to say no matter what. Who cares what they think. What matters is what YOU want,how YOU feel,and what you and your partner want,nobody else. If you want children,then you adopt,and good luck,children are what life is all about,so,being a good parent,which doesn't matter what you do behind closed doors,anyway. Good luck to you and yours.
