of course they do!

i have a story that pertains to this.

I was riding my old horse Boon in the arena when i did something stupid and slipped off because of it. i wasnt hurt and got up right away. But Boon (instead of his usually happy self) looked very depressed. I went over to him and said, "it's ok, you didnt mean to, it was my fault." He perked up a little. I got back on and proved to him i was ok by letting him run a little bit. He was fine after that.

He felt guilty for making me fall off. Just because animals can't say their feelings, they do show them through their body language.

I know for sure animals such as dogs, dolphins and elephants have feelings.

elephants love to play jokes on people. My friend used to work in a Zoo, and the elephants used to love sneaking up on her and sliming her

Dogs are also very expressive-- they feel jealous when one of two dogs is loved more than the other. Mourn when somebody is gone or dead.

I would suspect a lot of other animals have the same brain circuitry to feel the emotions.

I you want more scientific research, PBS did a whole series about emotions in animals check out this site:

Yes, at least dogs do. Many primates do. We can't go inside their heads, but if you're astute and used to watching them they act dejected sometimes, giddy sometimes, happy sometimes, etc. Dogs in particular, as pets do, I can tell you that from having dogs a lot. If the animal's species is social enough or pack animals and they are intelligent as far as animals go, it appears they have feelings. If there is a death in the family, they get depressed.

Yes. A mother animal will mourn the loss of her baby if it dies prematurely. You will see a herd of elephants will return to the site where a companion has died and they will pass around what ever bones is left and caress them. You will also see how a mother cat will purr to her kittens every thime she's with them. Every time I have been away from home my two cats would come to greet me with questioning miaows. Animals really do have feelings.

Of course animals have feelings!! The get embarrassed, happy, sad, frightened, guilty, angry, etc. I have seen all of these emotions in my four dogs. My Maltese even smiles. Animals also feel pain, fear, and sadness when they are abused. People who abuse animals should spend a long time in prison.

Yes I know they do. When I was a child my dad had several hound dogs. One of them had 10 or 11 pups. When they got rid of them that mama dog stood outside the door and cried real tears for several days. It was so sad. But that was before people went to the store and bought dog food. And we certainly didn't have the money to feed them.

Definitely. My pets are all very jealous, and some of them get really mad. My bird for example, he's so jealous... he hates everything I show affection to in front of him, like my boyfriend and my dog. My dog hates him in return and barks at him like crazy and even cries because he can't bite him and he wants to. I had 2 dogs who I raised together for about 10 years, one of them died, and the other mourned and was so sad acting for months until she died a few months later as well. Of course they have feelings, get a pet, you'll see.

Yes I believe that they do. When my grandmother passed away she had a dog for a long time and I know that the dog was depreesed and lonely. She wouldn't eat and ways always wimpering. Looking for her all through the house. And wouldn't sleep anywhere else but in my grandmothers bed.

Yes, they do, as deep and as "real" in their way, as people do. Even simple animals such as birds and fish express some feelings, which means when one of them has to die, to feed another, its a sin to waste anything

Yes. Just like people. Not only that, they're a better judge of character than most people. They can tell if your a good person or a bad person. Instinct. It's a survival trait.
