Been have this problem for a few weeks now. It's basically happening every hour I'm awake. Very irritating because I feel like a walking "Zombie." Neck always is aching and my head feels "numb" and also seems I can not concentrate/focus anymore because of these symptoms.

This happens to me, I have those exact same symptoms, and sometimes it hurts so much its debilitating. When it first started happening it was really scary. It's muscle tension in my neck and the back of my head. That's just the place where I tend to carry my stress and tension. I had to learn to relax, which isn't easy at all when the pain and stiffness is already starting, but it's doable. However, in your case, I think you should go and see a Dr., like ASAP. You could have something else wrong with you like a blood clot, aneurysm, high blood pressure, even a tumor. Please seek help and find out for sure what is wrong with you. Hopefully your problem is the same as mine, if so ask your Dr. for some good relaxation techniques, or even e-mail me so we can compare our relief techniques. Good Luck.

Could be resultant to several things; encephalitis, injury, reaction to an old injury (chronic) which has become actively acute...as well as a few others.. age would become an important factor also.

These are all symptoms involving a neuro/muscular problem. Primarily the cranial nerves, with an inflamitory process in progress. Not unusual symptoms presenting to the chiropractors office. Usually following a visit to the ER or several doctors.

See a doctor, these symptoms can be a lot of things. A pinched nerve, meningitis or other viruses, it could be a tumor, or a slipped vertebrae, the neck is a very delicate area and you need to get it checked as soon as possible.

I had that problem too and it got to where I could not stand the light or sounds. I had a dislocated vertebrae

I'm no doctor so I'm probably way off. However, it sounds almost as if maybe a muscle or tendon is pushing up against a blood vessel and not only causing you pain, but cutting off circulation as well. I hope you go to the doctor soon.

Call the ER and ask to speak with a nurse. They can tell you if you need to be seen right away or can wait for a dr's appointment. Either way though, you need to see a dr.
