I have 2 children and I had to be induced to have both of them. With my dayghter I was induced on my due date and she weighed 8 lbs 15.5 oz. With my son I was induced 3 days after due date and he weighed 8lbs 12.5 oz. Both were big babies and they didn't want them to get to big. I am now pregnant with 3rd child and wondering if I'm going to have to be induced with this one also. If anyone has any experience with this please let me know.

You don't HAVE to be induced. You didn't HAVE to be induced with your other two. Many many women go to 40-42 weeks pregnancy. The AVERAGE pregnancy is 40 weeks. Average means that some are less and some are more.

You have nice sized babies but not all that huge. Your body won't make a baby too big for you to birth unless you have gestational diabetes (and even then it is rare)

There is so many risks to be induced.

So the basic answer to your question in ....NO you do not have to be induced.

your body knows when it's time for your baby to be born. Doctor's are just on a time schedule and don't like to wait,They like to rush things along. I've had 3 births at home and getting ready to have another and your body knows. Do lots of walking to really help for baby to get set in place. It also does help things progress faster. If for some reason our labor needs to be induced it's done naturally with castro oil and v8 juice gross but does the trick instead of using drugs to induce and if it's not time for that baby to come out it's not. Trust me your body knows. Hope this kind of helps. Be blessed and hope you have a great labor and beautiful baby.

I know that some OB's will induce a woman a week or two early . for history of large babies.
Talk to your OB. Just be wary of being induced any earllier than 38 weeks (2 weeks early) because even some 37 week babies have respiratory difficulties.
