Just let me say that being labeled as 'un-(country)' by a tyrannical ruler does NOT make you unpatriotic, quite the opposite it makes you the true Patriot! Those in America who wave their 'Made in China' flags and profess 'patriotism', all while decrying anyone who disagrees with a bogus Presidency are simply fulfilling the prophetic warning of our Founding Fathers, that the 'terror from within' is the one to be feared the most. America is in a sad state, ruled by an idiot who is controlled by an evil and vile group of men we are on the verge of fascism. It is sad that the republicans have become as sheep, unable to distinguish propaganda from reality. Hopefully future generations will look back and be able to say that Thank God the real Patriots, those who see the bush Reich for what it is were able to overcome the blind and wicked ways of the republicans and return America to greatness.

Well in recent times Americans have become rather apathetic, they feel that they cannot change the government and so they just keep mum. Which is really too bad since America was once founded upon a patriotic attitude which whole heartily excepted dissent as a natural part of keeping the country healthy. Our founders felt that any leader with too much say and not enough opinion from the people would become tyrannical, it is a shame that so many Americans don't see it that way still. Many ignorant Americans feel that patriotism is blindly agreeing with every rule your country has and standing up for every position it takes. Though our icons and many of our leaders and hero's were rebels who didn't follow the beliefs of others, i.e. Abe Lincoln, Malcolm X, Ben Franklin. We are who we are because people stood up for there beliefs that is American patriotism, blind acceptance of another person's ideals, disrespect for the opinions of others because those opinions are different from your own is not patriotism it is stupidity. It is great to love your country, but it is more important to understand your country, not just be an ignorant flag waver. We should be participants not cheerleaders in our countries. It saddens me too that so many Americans are labeled by others who don't understand what freedom really means, and who by rejecting their opinions are being unpatriotic themselves without realizing it. I hope that answered your Q. OH ,P.S. AULONA36 PATRIOTS DID NOT CONSIDER DISSENTING OPINION TREASON, THE ENGLISH DID MAYBE YOU NEED TO MOVE!

Going against the government is the most patriotic thing an American citizen can do. The constitution was created by the people, for the people.

Being Canadian, at least from a Foreign standpoint, that being American, is it easy to see the different mindset...After all though Canada claims to be a Sovereign nation, it was only 1951 I believe when all the provinces became officially united, and I could be wrong with my details there, but you still legally claim allegiance to and I may screw up the spelling here: "La Frenchcopaige" which obviously explains why the standard language in parts of Canada is French. Though you claim to be a Sovereign nation, a celebrate the visit of the true Sovereign, "Her Majesty , the Queen of England" and you still legally avail yourselves as a member of the British Commonwealth. British Columbia, may still be a legal possible of the British Empire, and if you think I am wrong, start a petition drive to name the province something more, well native, if thats possible, the Indians did it with the Yukon Territories, and buy the way have you finished paying them, at least we paid cash for the Brooklyn Bridge. So in truth, your "country" is a collection of clearance sale provinces, except for the Quebecers, who are decendants of the French that allowed Germany to turn Paris into a public parking lot of Tanks, Guns, and young German males horny for beautiful unprotected French Girls. After feeling the embarrassment, they at least had the decency to leave the area so they went to Canada.
The Truth is hard to take, but YOU HAVE NO IDEA what patroitism and in this case AMERICAN patriotism is all about. And just as it is their right to be against the war, speak out against the President, spit on the flag and burn it, or go to funerals and protest during a private celebration, it is equally our right to state or displeasure with them. The prime difference betweem us and the rest of the world, is that we don't kill because of it. It is possible, often likely that many of best friends but they split on the area of politics or something else, but they remain friends because their usually is some commond bond, i.e. they like to go fishing and fun when doing it, their children go to the same schools, whatever, but underneath all that, our common bond is that we are American and that nationalistic common bond motivates us to do great things. That is what makes us strong...we may not like the Cindy Sheehans and what she is trying to promote, but it sad that most people don't even know the name the of the brave son who died helping us be great. In fact except for maybe her first or second appearances, most of her words are either strictly anti-George Bush or pro-Democrat whatever. She could be out helping out other families who had deaths with moral support or whatever, but the point is she has a right to do what she's doing, and though I don't agree with her , I would if called upon be willing to fight and die to continue to help this nation provide my children, and our of all of our future generation the safety it deserves and rights that God Gave us.
That is what it is to be American.
If you want to find out what it is to be a Canadian, you have to go France or Britian to find out.

It doesn't. The right to disagree with our government is written into our constitution, how about yours?
However, it IS unpatriotic to side with enemies of your country who have publicly stated that they want to destroy your country or its citizens.
If you are referring to Iraq, I must remind you that prior to the US invasion, the leader of that country had publicly offered a $25,000 reward to the families of anyone who would strap a bomb to themselves and blow themselves up if it resulted in the death of a citizen of the USA. Thousands of these 'dynamite vests' were recovered from storehouses in Iraq.
There are many other reasons for invading, but we only needed one.
Unfortunately, all of my relatives are Canadian. Fortunately, I went to school in Canada but I was born in the USA. I would be ashamed to be Canadian, because if a country publicly set out to destroy Canada or murder its citizens, the Canadian government would not stand up for them and do what is right, but rather back down and try to appease them. Chamberlain did the same thing with Hitler, and we almost ended up speaking German as a result.
It is so comfortable to live in Canada and not have pay higher taxes to support a strong military, knowing that the USA is there providing the defense. No nation would ever set foot on Canadian soil to invade without being overwhelmed by the US forces. American blood would spill before any hostile country would ever get a foothold on Canadian soil.
You’re welcome.

real manga does sell interior the U.S. even tho it fairly is costly. however the folk procuring the real article won't be so prepared to purchase some thing that's an American-made form-imitator. whether it does become fairly sturdy. I actual have seen some subjects of such comics, and the actuality they have been evidently manga-inspired works did no longer look to benefit them any particular recognition exterior of a small area of interest of subscribers. yet the two you and that i ought to rattle off the titles of many nicely-known jap manga, although. Even ones we've never examine. base line, an eye fixed-eye-catching drawing form is mostly a sturdy element for any comedian/manga to have, yet what incredibly ignites a objective audience into following this is the story. It desires to be gripping, exciting, ingenious, epic, with important characters that are relatable. If the 1st situation wows the reader into wanting to comprehend what's going to take place next, that variety of word is going to get around...and that's how some thing gets wide-unfold. whilst it contains the fickle international of the entertainment marketplace, the only ones who entirely make a living off of it are those whose names are enjoyed ones words. every person else (a minimum of the clever ones) have secure paintings in another container to pay the fees till they attain recognition and popularity.

Speaking out against the government or the president isn't unpatriotic. That's done daily here in the US. It's on television, in the movies, music videos, sit-coms, etc......
What is unpatriotic is when you don't love your country. When the foundation upon which it was built means nothing to you. When you take no pride in being an American. THAT is unpatriotic.

The US has a history of patriotic "being". Alot of the messages going out today against the country and government is what we as a country use to call TREASON and the ones who commited this autrocity against the US would hang for it....that is as late as the 50's.I think it is a disgrace to our country. I think all who think this country is sooooo bad needs to leave and never come back.It is a shame how this country has made so many people rich and famous and they speak as they do toward us.but as citizens they have they constitutional right....TREASON IS WHAT IT IS! HANG THEM ALL

It's nto that people are un-patriotic, thats just the current buzz word for constitution defending Americans.
Explain this to me. 200 years ago people were willing to kill and die for the freedoms we have. Yet now people are freaking out and giving them up for "safety". I mean America is the land of the free and the brave, not of the scared and the safe.

We shouldn't go against our government, because we need unity especially "at a time of war." I obviously don't agree with that.
