This is my fourth pregnancy and never had this pain before. When I lay down and especailly when I got to sleep, I have lots of pain/pressure on my pelvic area. I can not toss or turn or even get out of bed without it being painful. I was told its normal but how can something so bad be normal when I have never had it before. I am due in three weeks, couldnt this be a sign of pre-labor maybe?

I doubt it.

I had a lot of hip pain with my youngest (third pregnancy), and more than likely it's because the hormone relaxin (which spreads your joints somewhat for birth) that has spread your joints to the point that it hurts.

Take it easy as much as you can, although it's not easy with three children running loose on you!

Well you shouldnt worry too much because since you are so far along even if the baby came right now you would be fine and so would it. Go with your instinct. If the pain worsens or persisits see an doctor but I am a strong believer of stress making the pain worsen. Try to relax and take it easy..

I just recently expierinced the same thing with my 3rd child ( who is now 6 wks old) i had to roll out of bed becasue the pain was so strong i insited there was something wriong but the doctor said i was fine it was just differnt with this one every pregnancy is different i guess but i never felt that way with my other 2. Im pretty sure its the same way i was feeling which was obviously normal since my baby is fine and so am I but when in doubt see your doctor! good luck and hope all is well.. oh yeah and congratulations!

I am in my 3rd pregnancy, 6 weeks from delivery. SAME FRIGGIN PAIN!!! I thought I was the only one.
My Dr. said the ligaments that attach to the sides of the uterus go down and attach to the front of the pubis. He said my pain comes from the uterus pulling forward as it grows. (i'm bigger this time than either of my other 2) He recommended a "girdle" or "Pregnancy Belt"
I bought one and woohoo! it does make a difference.

i would say this is normal. each pregnancy brings something new. also, the more pregnancies, the more your body wears out. plus your getting down to the end, and i would say this might be signs of pre labor. call your doctor and find out. i wouldnt be too worried though. you only have 3 weeks left, that's just part of it. good luck!

I believe since your so close to having your baby your body is getting prepared and you could be experiencing pre-labor pains. But you should still ask you doctor or midwife. Hope you have a great birth.

I am sure it is normal. My mother who had nine children always said that pregnancy lasts 8 months plus one year. Meaning that the last month FEELS like a year.

If you are worried then go in and have them check you out. That is why they get paid.

Good luck to you. You are almost at the end :-)

of course your going to have pain, and your going to have other pains that you've never felt before because as the months pass, your gonna get more pains. and maybe your body is a bit tired of hold all that extra weight and all... if your really worried, go have it checked by a doctor.

it very well could be a sign of pre-term labour.... or the baby could just be moving... i would recommend going to the doctors... my friend had simular pain she though she was in labour but she wasnt they sent her home. so overall gpo to the docs and tell him/ her wats going on.
