Only as a back-up for when my DSL goes down. A free 10 hour per month dial-up account with Net-Zero is great free insurance for those times Verizon DSL is down!

when I first had the internet, thats all there was was dial up. then I moved onto cable, then I was downsized, and canceled cable, and got peoples pc for like 5 bucks a month. i am back to cable again, but i have a very wealthy aunt and uncle that still use peoples pc because they dont feel the need to spend 40 bucks a month on internet. hey, whatever works. to me, its a matter of what my priorites are. who is the a$$ that typed derail a zillion times. like anyone wants to read your crap

I still use dial-up. There's nothing wrong with it. It's still just barely luxury to have anything faster. Although when I'm on a T1 connection, my surfing habits rapidly change from sites with pictures as the main attraction to sites with videos. I don't mean porn sites btw.

In some rural areas, dial up is still the only option or at least the cheapest option.

Oh hell no!lol
It's not possible to survive the internet on dial-up!! These are different times. Even the ads are extremely advanced and TOO large for dialup. Youtube = nonexistant. Myspace = Non existant. Music = nonexistant. Forget your mp3player. With all the ads, and pages embedded with videos and music.. You aren't getting anywhere.

First off, I slice Derial King's penis off.
Second, I had Dial-Up 7 years ago. It's pretty much obsolete for today's web viewing.

My parents just switched over this year.
I don't know if it was dial-up that they hated or AOL...
