I ask a question twice and got the answer that there no such thing as mythology behind alchemy and that alchemy should not be put with witch craft and that alchemy is science. here's I know there's mythology behind alchemy. check the wikapedia people. it says that alchemy was science mixed with mysticism and there where several religions an thanks to a TV show if I talk about the philosophers stone people think I watch to much TV. I don't care about the answer anymore/ because it's nowhere. I just want to know am I stupid or am I talking to people that are over educated and miss the obvious. in other words is it me or is it them.

It's you. There is no mythology behind alchemy. There is spiritual alchemy, that used to be a religion, but you don't call a religion myth. That's like saying that the Bible is a fairy tale book. And all these people who are saying that alchemy was a mix of religion and science, obviously know little about alchemy. True, alchemy covered both, but it was divided into Spirtiual Alchemy and Practical Alchemy. The two almost never mixed. And what is this about people saying we think we're smarter than you? We're not saying we're smarter, we're just correcting a mistake you made. lighten up. So far I've seen you waste 15 points on this subject.

You are smarter then most people, when faced with a question you are being ridiculed for you still seek the answer. Yes there is mythology to everything including alchemy. Whoever said otherwise should consider the philosopher's stone. People are calluous and inconsiderate. Keep looking for the truth, you can only find it by looking.

I don't know if it's you or them. Alchemy was science in an era where science and religion were not seen as separate. In fact alchemy existed in more than one culture and its religious/mystical roots draw on more than one tradition. I'd like to answer your question, but it's a huge run-on sentence. I may not answer it because I don't understand you.

However, when alchemy was practiced, it was considered science. It included a lot of mythology, though. But it was the foundation for the science of chemistry. People had a different worldview then-- what to us is mythology was considered truth back them.

wikipedia is an online encyclopedia made by anyone ... u can edit the text of anything you want.. even if you dont have any references...so dont trust everything you read on there... but i do believe there is such things.. just not enough people left that are real alchemist...
