If you were left in the will it is a good chance that you would've been contacted. Two years ago, a woman whom I considered to be my foster grandmother died of cancer. I have to tell you that she made quite a few changes to her will from the time it was originated. A lot of things can happen or change in three years.
There was another instance in my family where my uncle died and wanted to leave his house to my aunt's and uncle's. However, he didn't have a will made and the property went to his children. If you want you can hire an attorney to look in to the matter, but if you weren't contacted by the attorney or person handling the estate by now, then it is a good chance there is nothing for you. Peace and God bless.

You would need to see a copy of the will. Most probates only take normally 6 months unless someone is contesting the will. If you was named in the will then you should have been present at a reading of the will. See if you can see a copy of the will before you get a lawyer

Contact the probate court in your county and ask to get a copy of the probate file. (You'll have to pay for the copies.) You will get a copy of everything that has been done thus far in the probate process, including a copy of the will.

After you do this, you'll find out who the executor of the will is, and if you were supposed to get anything.

And for the person who said that you should have been at the reading of the will, they only do the "reading of the will" where everyone gets together in movies and on television. That doesn't happen in real life.

You need to see a copy of the will. It should be public record. Call the county attorney.

You might! If you were in the will, you should have been contacted when his estate went to probate.
