the first time i was caught cheating my girlfriend sent me to the hospital. was this justified?

its painful even to recant the tale even though its been three weeks since the incident. cut a long story short she held me against a wall and kneed me so many times my left testicle got lodged in the abdominal canal from where it descended all those years ago. the doctors managed to retrieve and save it and im looking to press charges. what do you think of these events and would you have done the same thing in her position? the pain was so bad i passed out and threw up.

Cheating on your girlfriend was an act that probably devastated her and her self image. I know if I caught my husband cheating, I would be very upset. However, I don't believe that any action of yours justifies that brutal assault. I would probably press charges if she was still harrassing you. If it is all behind you now and you no longer talk to her, I wouldn't do it. If you want to press charges because of revenge, I would advise you to let it go, it's not worth the trouble and probably won't teach her anything. If you cant afford the dr bills because of it, I would expect her to pay for the medical treatment (which may require charges). I think what you did was horrible to her, but I admire that you didn't hurt her even when she assaulted you.

Cheating is horrible. If your eyes wander to another girl, than instead of cheating on your girlfriend, tell her it is over...which it is, or the other gal would never have caught your eye in the first place.

Then you can start something with this other gal and not be accused of cheating.

That said, yes you should press charges because violence is not the answer. If she gets away with putting you in the hospital, she will go on doing such stunts until she seriously hurts someone...or somebody puts the hurt on her in retaliation.

You both were wrong. You for cheating, and she for putting you in the hospital. Somebody should tell her that there are other ways to get revenge....

I hurt you that's for sure but not that much for the sole purpose of not being sued, like you are considering. I think it is perfectly justified! What the hell? Was it so hard to break it off with her first? Also when you say the "first time" does that mean you have done it again after that? Or just the first time in your life?

Hell no, she should not have done that! The rules apply to women just as much as men. You hit someone, you are committing a felony. Yes, you should press charges, she needs to know that the rules apply to women too. Whether she was justified in her actions or not.
As for your actions, you now know how bad it hurts when someone does that to you. You feel like passing out, throwing up, dying, anything else. My advice, learn from your mistakes, and hers. Good luck in future relationships.

I suppose you could press charges, but it's probably best to just put her and the episode behind you and move on with life.
