ok--This is a tough one--
Ive used this trick on a bicycle lock that had a thumbwheel 3 roll combo on it.

Start with a thin butter knife.
Place the knife in the slit in the front of the briefcase.
Your not going to be prying it open with that so don't use it for that.
The butter knife is used for feeling if the case is (separating)
with the knife placed and you hand on the knife and the other hand on the wheels start with the first number twist knife slightly as you thumb slowly through the first number.
if you feel the knife or number (give a little) or become loose on a peticular number leave it there and go onto the next number.
A little trial and error and feeling the lock number rollers give a little indicates you are on the right number.
Sometime this works ,sometimes not.

I used this trick on a bicycle lock one---yes it worked after about 15 minutes...putting a little stress on the lock while turning the numbers the lock will give if ever so slightly so your senses have to be sharp.

I don't know how many numbers you have on that lock, NNN or NNNN. If it's NNNN then as JD said, you could start at 0000 and work your way up. However, that is kinda painstaking. You could randomly combine numbers together as well. Chance of success 1 in 10000. If you know for sure that your numbers were all different, for example the combination wasn't all the same number, like 1111, 4444, etc.. or even any pattern with repeating numbers like 0007, 9000, 9900, 9090 (you get the drift) then your chances of success are 1 in 5040. So if you used random sequences, your time to get to the desired code, MAY be less than if you went serially. There is always the chance that you may get to it after you went through all the possible combinations. But there is also the chance that you may get it the first time. If you chose all different digits, your odds are quite good I have to say.

Well for bike locks with the same design, I found that I could pull like I was opening it and slowly turn the wheels until they got stuck and then push it closed and move them to the number they would of gone onto had they not stopped and and boom it opens.

Other than that, you can try taking it apart. Or sit there for a while trying the combinations out. Just make a pattern and stick with it.

Get a drill or hacksaw and cut the lock out of the briefcase. Then you can put your hand in to get at the contents. Buy a new lock and superglue it in the gap. Write down the combination of the new lock in a safe place such as a tattoo on your body somewhere so that you will have the combination forever.

If YOU can't open it, how in the world could we help you? Go buy another lock and put the combination in a more responsible place next time.

You're just going to have to try to remember it. Search on the net for anything that might help, but the only way I know is to think about it just before you doze off. The info is in your brain somewhere, and you have to ask your subconscious to find it and show it to you in a dream. It probably won't work the first time you try so persevere. And keep a pen and paper by the bed in case you get lucky.

press down on each wheel and use your fingernail on your thumb, you may feel a slight dip as the wheel slightly misses the notch the number you used as its sightly worn by now , do it slowly and in complete darkness. write down any numbers that may slip as you scratch with your thumb nail. try at the same time to pull the case lid away from the base as this will put a strain on the lock levers and you will feel it slip even more.

dont you think that if there was an easy way around opening the briefcase without the combination then there wouldnt need to be a combination... sit down and think of it, it will come to you eventually, play around with the numbers and you will remember, good luck

it could take a while but you could go through every possible number combination till you hit lucky.

failing that smash it open & just buy a new briefcase.
