The fields that they played the world cup games on look so much bigger than the fields they play American MLS games on. Is this just my imagination?

What that Maradonna Jr. said is true; there is a range for legal field sizes.
It can be long from 90m to 120m (from goal to goal) and wide from 45m to 90m!!!The biggest is in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro (Maracana) , I think that is 110x75 meters and Arsenal (High bury) stadium is the smallest.

Maradona Jr is correct, there are official ranges, those that he mentioned.
However, for international play, and for the most important national championships, the ranges are more strict:
length: 100 to 110 m (~90 to 100 yd)
width: 64 to 75 m (~70 to 80 yd)

I am not sure about the MLS, but most of the European and South American fields used for national championships are within those dimensions.

No, the measurements may vary anywhere between 100-130 yards (length) by 50-100 yards (width). Most professional fields are 115 yards by 74 yards.

Yes, soccer fields are of different sizes, though there is a maximum and minimum size rule.
