No, I was not surprised when he announced he is gay.
No, I do not think that the other guys from nsync are gay, nor do I think the backstreet boys are either. In fact, 3 of the backstreet boys are married, to women. I feel the need to clarify that as you are very obviously homophobic.
What you are doing IS wrong. Believe it or not, buy excluding a cd from your child's collection based on someones sexual orientation is teaching your child to be biased, homophobic, and in many ways teaching discrimination. You wouldn't exclude books or music from your child's collection if the artist had been black, Chinese, Latin, or ___ (insert race here) based on race, color and creed. That too would be teaching discrimination, racism and hate.
Now, if the lyrics had contained homosexual messages, or praise, I would be concerned. It would not be appropriate content for a child. The boy bands sang about puppy love and girls. I really do not see a need for your concern. In modern times, homosexuality is common, it's present, and I'm sure you in fact are acquainted with someone who is homosexual. Maybe a teacher, a co worker, a neighbor etc...
If you are a very religious person, I would be VERY concerned with how you're judging others. I thought God is the only one who has the right to judge others? Not liking gays is a form of hate. What does the bible say about teaching hatred?
Just think about it.

adequate...first I needed to manage Justin leaving NSYNC for well, then I pay attention that the complete organization is not going to make an extra CD ever once more, then I discover out that Kevin Richardson from the Backstreet Boys is splitting the band, however the men are nonetheless going to make a brand new CD quickly, and now I'm determining that Lance Bass is homosexual?! I discover that rough to feel. I imply, initially, no person of their state-of-brain could announce this sort of factor to the general public. Even if I was once a lesbian (which I'm one hundred% no longer), I woudn't simply cross inform my subsequent-door neighbor, "Hey, I'm so-and-so and I'm a lesbian!" It's no longer that I'm towards others available in the market whom also are homosexual or lesbian. Even if Lance Bass desires to inform the sector that he's, it does not relatively topic. Any lovable man available in the market maybe homosexual, however does that imply you will have to keep away from that individual or snort at them? Absolutly no longer!! Lastly, why will have to others care approximately whether or not or no longer individuals are interested in the identical gender?

Lance is the only gay guy in the band but that doesnt mean you should stop your daughter from listening to the band. The people on here are right if being gay was a sin then why did God make gay and lesbiands in the first place.

u r evil! how dare u say that being gay is a sin. no it isn't! the Bible doesn't say that. it is a sin 2 stereotype people. u should let ur daughter listen 2 them. who cares if he's gay or not? who really gives a damn? i don't care. sure i was shocked at first but i already got over it. i still like him and i listen 2 Nsync every once in awhile. I still have a crush on Lance and I'll always support him. GLBT people r actually good people and very nice folks BTW. how dare u judge Lance? it's because of people like u, GLBT people don't feel safe in this world. y can't u just accept them 4 who they r and not their sexual orientation?

I came from religious background that taught me the same thing but at some point you have to grow up and realize that by saying what you said is why this world is so ****** up. Not liking somebody because they slapped the crap out of you or raped your daughter is a good reason to dislike someone.
But not liking someone because they are gay? That's stupid. People always quote the bible and say that God says 'it's a sin for two men to lie together'.. but in that same book it also says that if your child talks back to you, you have to kill him or her.
Why follow one and not the other? So if you follow this rule, then if your kid talks back... you know what you have to do.
I believe strongly in God and know that he does not look down on people just because of their sexuality. Lance is a human being and who cares that he's gay. That doesn't make him evil. What makes a person evil is disliking them for such a ludicrous reason. He isn't bothering you or parading around in hot pants on your doorstep singing show tunes or whatever it is that you think gay people do.
He's a person. Get a life and look at your own because you aren't perfect.

Well, I had a feeling he was gay. And there's probably a gay backstreet boy. Since their songs dont have anything gay in them, you should let your daughter listen to her cds. It's not wrong that you feel this way either, its being the person you are and there's nothing wrong with that. But maybe you should consider to tolerate gays. Its one thing to accept them and another to tolerate them.

I think the guys in these "boy bands" targeting pre teen girls are all kind of gay, normal thinking boys wouldn't do it. The cool kids will tell you straight up they don't listen to them because their sound sucks, no pun intended. On the serious side, gays are everywhere now, recruiting our kids to their way of thinking like this by getting their attention first mainstream and then coming out. The kid thinks "well Lance is cool, so gay is cool" Wouldn't surprise me if a gay record executive did it on purpose to advance the gay agenda. I'm christian and I don't like gay, but it's not up to me to judge them, let God deal with it. I certainly don't want gays harmed in any way for being gay. But I am tired of them forcing their lifestyle into the front of the mainstream media in ways like this, it's everywhere, even the new superman is rumoured to be gay. Gay is nasty, keep it in the closet, no reason for these people to be so proud of it.

my point on the whole anti-gay thing be cause of the bible saying so is this ..... if God says it is soo wrong then why did he create gay/lesbian people in the first place. Why would you make your daughter stop listening to them if this is recent and that was years ago? not to mention the fact that up until you found out he was gay you were okay to listen to...

Well, if you cut everything out of your life connected to people that are gay, drink, do drugs, and sin in every other way, you'd be stuck in a cave! However, I do understand you not wanting anything to wrongly influence your children.
Btw, this may seem wierd, but it seems like every guy I've known or heard of who's name is Lance turned out to be gay...strange!

What difference does it make if he is gay or not, it's the same music and he doesn't push his sexual preference on anyone outside of his subculture. The fact remains that they are all very talented and you shunning their music makes no sense if you enjoyed it before. I've got news for you, if you shun everything that may have been created by a gay individual you make come up kind of short. As far as you being wrong, of course you have a right to raise you children as you see fit, but as a christian myself I believe that it is not my place to judge, that is up to god.
I'm convinced that being judgmental is as significant sin as all the others that people tend to exploit.
