"Me and my best friend are just friends!" i would say to people when they would tease me and him about hanging out alot together. people think that we are going out but we're just friends. it seems to me that i can't get that through people's heads. even my relotives think that we like eachother but we don't. i just wish i knew how to get them to stop teaseing us. i've tried asking them to stop, but it never works. could someone here on Yahoo! give a little advice on the situation?

Just ignore them. They are just trouble makers trying to get a rise out of you. Next time smile and say, "We'll never tell so you may as well mind your own business."

I am in a similar situation. I have a friend who is like a brother to me. People, even my boyfriend says we are messing around. We have never done such! we could never, we are not sexually attracted to each other, he is handsome, but no attraction. I find it easier to just ignore these people. It doesn't matter what they think because, we know what is or isnt going on. We love to be around each other, and to worry about how others view it would only make it uncomfortable for us to be around each other. So you can explain to people what the situation is, after that leave it alon. People are going to think what they want to think, no matter what you say to them. So just brush it off and continue to hang out with your friend. But becareful, some relationships like yours can be dangerous. Once, people in a opposite sex relationship get that idea in their head...they may seem to begin to look at the person in that way. Sometimes, not always. But if the both of you are ok with your relationship...Have fun!

teh best way to stop a rumor or teasing is to pay it no attention at all. the more you defend yourself or get annoyed, the more it will continue and that goes for EVERYTHING in your life. People get all encouraged to continue teasing when they know it bothers you - if this is ur good friend, don't worry what they say - really. The more you fight it, the worse it will be.

My best friend is a man, and I'm a woman. we have so many problems, when we're both single it's awesome, because we just cool. but when either of us have a mate it's like we can't talk because that other person gets jealous or whatever. And our parents are continuously bugging us...all you need is trust faith and communication, you guys have all that. But we're just cool. What I do when we get bothered by it is tell peope if we want to be together that's our business but thanks for letting our friendship mess with your heads.

Just don't let them know it bothers you. People will tease you when they know it bothers you or they know that you will tease back.
Maybe people think that you two look good together, maybe you should accept the teasing as a complimentary thing and not take it so personal. ;)

just ignore them if you know you guys are not like that then you have nothing to worry about remeber the saying sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me. jus use that as advice dont worry about the teasing the sooner you ignore and not acknowlage it the teasing will go away.

lol, dont let it bother u. that adds fuel 2 the fire. If u enjoy each others company then thats all matters. I've been out with female friends of mine and that is all it was........friends. Ignore the teasing.
