Saddam was selling his oil in Euros, the US invaded, and only looked after the interior ministry and the OIL ministry. The first peice of business conducted after the fall of Saddam was a trip to the UN to get the sanctions against oil lifted, to allow the US to pump as much oil as possible out to be sold in DOLLARS!
the rest of the country was in chaos, there where looters looting everything, the US broke international law by refusing to protect hospitals, clinics, schools and other essential infrastructure from the looters, But they protected the OIL ministry!!!
Iraq not about oil? BULLSH!T Bush supporters are so fucked up about how far off track Bush has gone that they have to force themselves to believe all kinds of total blatant bolloks to keep congruency with their beliefs.
The only problem has been that the arrogance, incompetence and unprofessional standards of US military fukwits, meant that any good will that was felt by the Anti Saddam Iraqis, (the shia) was completely blown away in a sea of innocent's blood and an anti-US insurgency grew that did not exist before Saddam was defeated.
The US lost control of the oil to the anti-US freedom fighters (insurgents) and they cannot get it out. The US dare not venture out into many parts of Baghdad now. The US have lost control and the country is now in a civil war.
This suits the Oil companies as the instability is keeping the price of oil high and the oil executives very VERY rich. They are making all-time-record profits as it still only costs about $20 dollars per barrel, to extract oil and put it on the global oil markets, but it is selling at over 70 dollars per barrel.
That is why, despite the Iraq war, fuel is still so expensive. it is because the US military is very powerful and very STUPID!

If it was'nt about the oil, what was it about?Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11,in fact he hated the people involved as much as any-one,Bin Laden is Saudi,so why did'nt Bush attack Saudi Arabia?Of course it was about oil,the oil Ministry was the only protected building in Iraq, why do you think that was?Bush,Cheney,Rumsfeld all owed favours to the money-men,this is how they cleared the account.Cheney's former company,Haliburton made millions, but were so greedy, they robbed the American tax-payers of even more millions.Be a Patriot, fight & die for the oil companies!

Why are we still using petrol? Earthrace, a ship built in New Zealand, is travelling around the world to set a speed record, and is doing it using biodegradable fuel. In fact, it is running on Canola oil! Why aren't cars able to do this? In New Zealand, the fat from fish and chip and fast food outlets is collected, purified, and used in bio-diesel engines. If we converted to biodegradable fuel it would be better for the environment, better for our pocketbooks, and we could turn our back on Iraq and all the other petty little oil kingdoms.
Google up Earthrace and find out what we're missing out on.....

We don't know what might have happened to energy security if Iraq had not been invaded. What would Sadam have been up to if he was still in power and would he have destabilised the area and perhaps the world even more than it is now? How much worse would Iran and Syria be behaving now if action had not been taken in Iraq? We'll never know but we are where we are.

It's not like the U.S. is taking the oil from Iraq back to the U.S. It is still processed and drilled and stuff by companies there. And with all the insurgency problems, its kind of hard for the Iraqis to do those things without getting killed. For a country to export anything, they generally have to be politically stable, and Iraq is anything but that.

It's only gone up by about 18p a litre in the past year, that's not too bad. The price has doubled in Australia and we don't even import oil.

As long as America would like to export his so called democracy, (which they have only to show people and the world, actually everything is smoothly controlled, in other words white colour dictator) in different parts of world, oil prices will go up only. War costs a lot of money dear.

Oil isn't being produced in any quantity in Iraq. Production is less than before the invasion. Whoever said the invasion would pay for itself in oil revenue was an imbecile.
