It depends on what you mean by fair. Life is very difficult at times, but that's true for everyone. Some people are born into families or situations where they have more material advantages, and there are plenty of things that are easier with lots of money. We certainly aren't all equal in any sense - some people are better looking, smarter, more artistic, more athletic, more musical, etc., etc. Some people are lucky enough to have lots of natural advantages.
And it's also true that life gives us plenty of unavoidable tragedy - accidents, illnesses, loss of loved ones.
But I think that, in most cases, we make our own luck by the choices we make. Better choices generally result in better "luck." Here's one personal example: My sister and I are very close in age. We grew up in a middle class family, both did well in school. She's lots cuter than I am, I'm more artistic than she is. Our parents could afford to send us both to college. I graduated, got a teaching credential, got married, and had 2 kids. I'm still married and I love my teaching job, which doesn't pay a lot but is plenty to live on. My sister dropped out of college, got married to a guy who turned out to be an abuser and a lowlife who couldn't keep a job. She had 4 kids, 2 of them after he had started abusing her. She left the workforce when she had the first kid, and by the time she finally kicked the bum out, she had no education and no job skills. Now she is struggling to make ends meet and feels that she has all the bad luck and I have all the good luck.
I think, though, that we both made our own luck.
My life isn't perfect by far. But I love my life, my family, and my job, so there's lots more to be happy about than to be bummed out about.
Maybe you can decide what you want out of life and make a plan to get there. Focus on what you can do to improve your life. It's really hard when you look at the big picture, when you are at a place where you feel like you're at the bottom of a pit. So just figure out what's one small step you can take to get you where you need to go. And then just take another step, and another. Even when you are at a very low point in life, and I have had some really hard ones (health problems, death of loved ones), there are still things worth living for. Keep trying!

Do to the sinful nature of human beings life is very unfair. It is our own fault that it is this way. However we can make a choice to serve The Lord our God and he will bless us. Even though we may choose to do this life will still seem unfair at times. The power to accept this lies within our choices. Take it from a new believer. I have had a really hard time in the past accepting lifes unfairness and I still do. All I can do is TRUST in God and he will help me to accept the way life is. I do know that my life is much more fulfilling now that I have CHRIST in my life and I am able to accept things that I cannot change easier.

Life was, is and always be fair. Everyone plays by the same rules. People who think life is unfair didn't read the rule that says their life will suck until they start reading the rules.

It depends on how u see it. when i was younger i used to think that life is very unfair, but now i know better. the harder life is for u, the more u learn, again, it depends on your outlook. When it looks like life is very unfair, I think of all the people who suffer so much and yet find a reason to smile and live on, they inspire me to live my life to the full.

Life is neither 'fair' nor 'unfair'. It's life. It's a set of mostly random circumstances some of which we can affect and most of which we cannot. There are no objective rules, no promises, no pre-arranged circumstances, so why would anyone expect it to be anthing else other than random?

No, I don't think life is fair but..when you die it will not matter anymore. Life is too short to worry about if things are fair or not fair-- It would take up your whole life to make sure you got everything the same as other people. Trust me ;)

Well, I'm with you. When I was a kid, my mother always told me I was special and that life would be fair to me. And then I read this book once too that said life was fair. Boy was that book wrong. And so was my mother - well about life being fair I mean. Not about my being special. lol
