There are 3 sides. There are the stories of the 2 parties involved, and then there is what really happened.

There are 3 sides to a story -yours, mine, and the truth.
I admit I don't investigate everything I hear, but I don't accept everything I'm told, either. If it's important, I'll go to the source or research to find the "truth" (relative, as we all know). I don't even accept everything I read, as I've found too much to be biased -even in published educational research! I want to believe that I'm open for other possibilities -limiting your scope to the realm of what you already know is self-defeating....and ultimately your thinking will stagnate.

There are at least 2 sides if not more. I always try to hear from both sides before making a decision. Most of the time, it is due to failed communication.

Always open for other possibilities - I work customer service, and if I believed everything I was told by a customer, I would be giving out thousands of dollars worth of credits daily, and letting people go for years without paying their bills.

I wish you would check both side of a story, and try to figure out what indeed happened.....The last question you asked would not have been deleted, and you not have felt the need to ask

Usually there's your side, my side, and the right side! And yes, I do try to investigate if I can before I take ANYTHING at face value, even the evening news!

There are as many sides as the people involved. Furthermore, there is no such thing as "a simple truth". While there may be a fundamental truth out there, as human beings we are incapable of knowing it, as none of us owns that truth, but OUR PERCEPTIONS of that truth, which can at times be in dispute.

I am very cynical, and I rarely just believe things because someone tells me. I actually kind of do the opposite and disbelieve things until I can convince myself that they are right.
