Dangerous Liaisons, it is epistolary novel. The movie is good, too. The War of the Worlds and The Time Machine (though both movies were horrible!) American Psycho, I liked the movie better. Breakfast on Pluto, I've never read it, but the movie is amazing! A Scanner Darkly, never read the book, OK movie. The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, good book, good movie. Everything is Illuminated, never read the book, good movie. Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, never read the book, good, although long, movie.

Holes, Hoot, Harry Potter... there are lots. At my house we all just read "Eragon" and "Eldest" by Christopher Paoloni and "Eragon" is due out at the theaters this fall/winter.
