Its definitely not my thing.....To me its more like talking or yelling.....maybe it can be considered rhythmic poetry??

Whether you like it or not, it's a form of music. I can't stand rap either. Like my grandfather says, "You don't have to like it, you just gotta deal with it."

Raping is a forum of music. What is music? Do you consider Metal a music? To me its just a bunch of yelling and some instruments in the back (A-mazing). That doesnt meani its not music.
Rhythmic Poetry? That is a good way to say it, but its still a form of music. You might not like it, but other people do. And not everyone is Rhyming, which is like..wow. Because they sound like they are trying to...(stops).
You will get alot of people that will say " RAP IS CRAP" and all that, but i could careless about people that call a form of music crap. Music is supposed to be for everyone, but by calling it crap, you making it to where its only for the select people that like a certain type.

It's poetry and stories set to beats, so what do you call that? Isn't that all what country music and blues is, storytelling? Rock stars yell in the mic, why can't rappers? At least they have reason to yell, to get the point across in some songs, they want you to feel their pain. Why do some rockers yell about Satan, what sense does that make? It's to each his own, everyone likes and dislikes certain things.

I think music is like beauty - the ear of the listener you know. Some people like rap some don't, some people like country music and some don't. It is really a matter of opinion.

Nope, it's just talking and computerised noise. No instruments. So it isn't music. It should be considered poetry. I don't like rap either. Rock is the best.

It is music. All rappers are not the same. Common, Most Def, and others tell stories in their lyrics. You don't have to listen to anything you don't like. I don't like all rap and won't listen to gangsta rap.

yea that's your opinion that rap is not music but i think it is all music is music whether you don't like that type of music it still music
