The first answer has a good point! Although I don't know enough about whats causing you to feel this way, to know for sure if that would help. Sometimes you get caught up in the drama of your life, or whatever problems that have been causing you stress. It of course is going to cause you to be irritable, and snap at times. I'm in the same situation right now. I have sooooo much on my mind, I feel like I'm going to explode. It always helps to talk it out with someone. Don't hold your feelings inside, talk to a friend. It will help you feel better. Good luck... Email if you wanna talk. :)

Take a hot shower with an aromatic soap or body gel.
Dry off ad dress comfortably.
Go to the bookstore and browse at your leisure.
Maybe buy a puzzle magazine or a humorous book. Or browse a section you've never paid attention to in the past...maybe pick up a book there. If they sell coffee at your bookstore, buy coffee and sip it while you browse.
Next, buy a pint of your favorite ice cream.
Next, go someplace where you can be alone and comfy (even if it's in your car in the driveway with AC running), and chow down on your ice cream and read your new awesome book.
Sometimes, just getting myself something new cheers me up. And by "new," I mean new to me. I usually shop at thrift stores. When I'm all grouchy and snappy, I take a couple of bucks and go buy a book or a trinket or shirt or something from my favorite thrift store.

Do something that has absolutely nothing to do with anyone but yourself. THat means no kids, husbands, etc. Go to a spa (if you have the money) or just go get a pedicure (a good one is about $40). If money is a factor, go see a movie that you want to see. Go window shopping at a mall. Go sit in Barnes and Noble and read something. You will feel so much better. We start snapping when we are taking care of everyone but ourselves.

It could be the heat, it could be your horomones, it could be that maybe you just need a hug. Hugs always make me feel better. I'm sure it sucks for you to feel the way you do, but it will pass before you know it and you will feel better. Try and find an outlet to ease some of your tension and get your mind off things. It helps me to watch a movie or listen to music when I feel that way sometimes.

Think about some thing u always wanted to do and try and dream along with it. It will help. Just take ur mind off the bad patch. Watch something funny, play games with ur kids or even with ur partner. Just dream of something very different.

Seriously, see a doctor for a check up, you might have post par tum depression with four little children. We don't need another Andrea Yates. It could be something very easily handled with the right meds or even vitamins.

I suggest some time alone or a date with your husband. Get a sitter and give yourself a well deserved break! You need some love and attention that you are used to giving to your family! Do what you enjoy. Chocolates? Champagne? Sex? Dinner, movie, mani-pedi, nature, shopping....you know what you need!!!
Good Luck :)

When I'm feeling down and like life is against me I write things down that go right. Even the silly little things like - ie: I found a pair of socks that match!
