I used to get paid $20 for two small lawns, about a 40 min job and then she woiuld tack on 10 if I did something extra like trimmed a bush. I would definitely pay by job, not actual time (as long as you are not a cheapskate).

I am sure it varies greatly depending on the area of the country that you live in and by the size of your yard. Ours costs $25-30 to have cut every couple of weeks, but I usually do it myself rather than paying someone. It takes me about 2 hours to do it (lot is maybe 75 by 160). I live in New Orleans.

I pay a guy $40 a month for 2 visits a month. Thats basically just for a mow, blow, and go though. Anything extra usually costs more.

when my brothers were younger they would charge 5 bucks for mowing or shoveling and 5 bucks for each other chore, that was 30years ago.

in marin county and sonoma county california its about 16 dollars an hour.

My husband does it for free. As long as he's around I am willing to pay $0.00.
