Believe it or not, our paper recently had an article about the 10th anniversary of Blues Clues, and he is not dead, although the last 10 years haven't been that good to him (balding)

He's not dead. When left the show, they did a three or four episode bit introducing the other guy and explaining Steve's absence with "Steve is Going to College".
I believe that he did/does have a band. I saw him on an old episode of Law & Order (he played a mentally ill guy who died after being tortured in a mental facility that strapped people into electroshock outfits or something along those lines).
I know nothing about his sexuality, but I think he has tattoos on his arms and that's why he always wore long-sleeved shirts.

DAMNIT HE IS NOT DEAD.
He is alive. He quit the show to be a musical artist. Look him up. You will find his website, and you will notice that he is a hippie.
No, he didnt get fired. No he isnt on drugs (well he is a hippie). And No he did not molest some little kids after a television show.

no Steve didn't die. he was on nick the other day and said that he wanted to pursue a music career. that's why the last episode he went to college.

Actually, I read he quit the show because he is a cat lover....he isn't dead, if he is not gay, well maybe he should think more about it. And when he quit he had to give that stripey shirt back...

No he just moved on in his career. I believe that his brother took over his role in the show.
