Adrianonthenet must NOT have watched that actual episode, because at the end, they ran 2 identical vehicles on the track, one with ac blasting, one with windows open. The one with the ac running came to a halt a long time before the one with the windows open.

If anyone watches mythbusters they will know that they did a series of tests and the results showed that the car with the window opened used more gas because the drag of the air and the car with the a/c turned on used slightly less fuel.

I hear that you get better gas mileage with the windows up and the a/c on if it is too hot to leave the a/c off. Open windows cause a pull on the air, thus using a minute more gas.
