It depends. It's a lot harder now since getto style is popular, but in older people it would be through their clothes, grooming, the way they talk, and the way they walk. It is easiest to distinguish rich people from poor people by their speech and the way they walk because some poor people max out their credit cards trying to look rich. Rich people usually have a wider range of vocabulary and they speak like they write meaning gramatically correct. They walk with good posture and confidence and do not slouch.

usually a rich man is smarter with money, a poor man is not good with money issues.
If you are rich, you can tell when you talk to the man right away, but if you are poor then it's not easy to tell. People can hide things by the way they dress. The only way to tell is through your brain. Get richer yourself first then you will have better judgement.

1. Listen to him speak. A rich man *should* be educated and therefore articulate. A very poor man will most likely have bad grammar.
2. Fingernails. A rich man's will be cleaned and well-manicured, even if he is wearing slummy clothes. A poor man's will probably be grungy and/or ragged because he works a blue-collar job.

Based on my experience, a lot of rich people tries to save and earn more money while on the other hand, poor people lives more than they can afford. They buy things they don't really need just as long they have the money or credit card to pay for it.

You would have to have a list of his assets to really know. Flash and bling are definitely NOT indicators of wealth. The opposite is true as well, for example the founder of IKEA drives an old beat-up Volvo because he doesn't see the point of wasting money on a new car if his old one runs just fine.

The richest person I know (multi-millionaire) would be impossible to tell from a very poor person unless one spent considerable time in conversation.

you cant unless you physically look at their situation. expensive clothes, house, or car may just mean their in debt no necessarily rich while on the other hand the other guy may have everything paid off and not in debt
