Don't say the world would be boring or it wouldn't be worth living because we wouldn't even know they existed. If we were born without emotion, we would know no different.

You are obviously not knowledgeable in neuropsychology. If you were, then you would know that ALL ACTION requires emotion, including asking your very question. However, we are often unaware of our emotions because they are not very strong. Perhaps you mean to ask 'Wouldn't life be so much SIMPLER without our STRONG EMOTIONS?'.

There are different types of emotions based upon how they work. There are emotions that drive relatively simple neural pathways, and emotions that drive more complex neural pathways, and the same emotion can drive different pathways. However, STRONG emotions typically drive simpler pathways that cause people to act more wildly, whereas weaker emotions can drive more complex, civilized pathways. So yes, life would be easier without strong emotions.

Life would be simpler, no doubt. Especially if you never experienced love. I never experienced love or a boyfriend until I was 18, and I can tell you that ever since that moment, life has been more emotional and stressful since. I kind of liked how it was before it. But I'm sure I don't regret it, and especially won't care when I find one last person I can love for the rest of my life and stress and be emotional with. Ha.

Life would be different. And not necessarily simpler; emotions are a big part of how we manage to live together as a society. Watch any nature program -- life is far from simple for most animals.

And where would you draw the line? Something roughly similar to our familial love keeps a wolf pack together -- is that or is it not emotion?

Yes. Emotional intelligence tends to put a spanner in the works.
Our subconscious mind has no ability to feel emotion, to rationalise, to feel morals or ethics or weight up the pros and cons. It's a very black and white process - more like a data system on the computer. Something either is or it isn't - simple as that.
It's our conscious minds that complicate things - dam these front temporal lobes.

It would be simpler but it would be so boring. Hahaha. I don't wanna even imagine life without emotons. There will probably be some other kinda form that will substitute emotions. Banging heads against wall maybe? Or pooping at each other? =P

being sad, getting hurt, feeling abandoned r all emotions we wish if we can live without them, but to think abt it r we really willing to give up our emotions, i mean in life u have to take the good with the bad, and i think a moment when u feel good abt a person u love or an accomplishment u did is worth it.

Yes, well when computers take over the world it will be simpler and we might as well be dead. Give me some emotions rather than an unfeeling git any day.

Sure, we could never feel happy or fall in love, we could never feel fear when we're in danger, or angry when something is wrong, or sad... we would have no personal likes or dislikes, because nothing would bother us or make us feel good... so we could all go through life like robots... what life? We wouldn't even be rational beings, because we wouldn't be motivated to care about being rational. Basically we'd be dead lumps of flesh. Oh wouldn't that be great.

There is no such thing as emotions. Those experiences that we call emotions, are conditioned responses to thoughts. You can control your thoughts.

In the USA, when someone dies, it is so sad and dramatic...everyone cries and some people throw themselves over the casket and such. In many African countries, they celebrate death...the person accomplished their goal. They are the same as we are, but their "emotions" about death are different. They were conditioned differently than us.
