First, "sexual preference" is politically incorrect. It's "sexual ORIENTATION" "Preference" is a choice, which "orientation" is not.

Now to your question: we are born the way we are. And it does offend me when people say we "choose" to be gay. I have a congenital (from birth) disorder. Saying gays choose to be gay is just like saying I choose to have a disorder. I did not; get used to it.

The father and the mother fall in love, and sooner or later they make love. A seed from the father in implanted in an egg in the mother. About 9 months later, a baby is born. Something between 6% and 10% of them are born gay. What don't you understand?

The answer as to WHY some of them are born gay, rather than HOW is the subject of some intense research. It would seem the best promise of an answer has to do with sex hormones in the mother's womb during the pregnancy. Male hormones perhaps trigger a rejection sequence, which is changes in intensity after a number of pregnancies. This is why recent studies have shown that the propensity to give birth to a gay male increases with the number of prior male births to the same mother. I don't know of similar studies yet on female babies.

I think most of were born sucking titties after our head was in a vagina, so I guess all men were born straight and all women were born lesbians. But luckily, some of the women changed or else that would have meant the end of the human race.

But seriously check studies or surveys done on identical twins separated at birth and that will give you the answer and tell you if it is genetic or choice because they have identical DNA. They did a research study and found that around %50 of identical twins separated at birth were both gay.

That's pretty inconclusive so in my opinion this says some gays are born homosexual while some gays are not geneticly gay, but become gay after an interaction of factors. So that means you have two kinds of homosexuality ---genetic homosexuality and developed homosexuality. So the answer is it depends on the individual person.

I dont agree with the theory that people are born gay. If this were true the same could be said of being born selfcentered or a spouse abuser. It is a personal choice, a temptation in my opinion that a person is faced with and has to have will power to overcome.

Chemicals in the brain, DNA profiles, sexual organs that are not properly formed. There are many things that can cause a person to be born gay.

Were you born straight, or did you make a choice sometime later in life? Because if being gay is a choice, I was absent the day 'straight' was the option.

Thenn what you are saying that you were born with no sexual preference and that you had no sexual preference from birth so somewhere along the line you developed one. So tell me how did you choose to be straight.

Genetic, darlin, genetic. What's to understand. Are you telling me you made a decision to be Straight??? If so, when was that? IF you didn't 'decide' to be straight, why would you think that Gays 'decide' to be gay? OF course, there is the other side of this logic, isn't there? IF one could choose his sexual identity, it would seem that being Gay is preferable to being straight..otherwise, why would there be so many social taboos against it? Fear that everyone will 'decide' to be gay???? Hmmmmm. Very interesting, but very stupid.
