The "The Diamond Sea" vocals was sang by the Sonic Youth member "Thurston". It proved to be one of the Sonic Youth band's most popular songs in their album "The Washing Machine" with the following line up of members:

Thurston - guitar/vocals
Kim - bass
Lee - guitar
Steve - drums
