I think you are right Smiley George. But I's still like to see a hot Lois Lane. Take Spiderman for example. Kirsten Dunst really did it for me in that movie.

because the Superman movies are based on the comic book, and Lois Lane was a newspaper reporter, all the attractive reporters go to television.

I wouldn't go as far as call Kate Bosworth unattractive. Boring? Yes. But unattractive? Nah. Now how she landed the role as Lois Lane is unknown to me. I think she's tight with Brian Singer. As for Margot Kidder, I don't mind here as Lois Lane at all. While she might not be beautiful in the traditional sense she had character. That counts for a lot.

Because the movie highlights Superman and if they had a very attractive Lois Lane it would distract the attention away from him.

Lois Lane supposedly would represent the every-American-woman type - a woman that other women are not threatened by, yet men wouldn't kick out of bed for eating crackers.
She's got her slight character flaws: a little clumsy; not very observant for a reporter; a little geeky - yet she's the object of one particular man's desire (in other words, Superman would care most for humans that are truly humans). Remember, she's Superman's object of desire and Superman is supposed to be a protector and lover of humanity, despite the fact that we rarely see him protecting those outside the United States.

Anyway you can`t improve on the Smallville Lois LOL.
Hot and looks the part of the hard-nosed reporter Lois is supposed to be.
Chritopher Reeves was hardly the original - there were several before him including his namesake George Reeves

Because the focus of the attention is Superman/Clark Kent the other actors are just extras in the film

That depends on what you consider attractive. There are some stars I think are beautiful and others I don't. Your idea of attractive may or may not be the same as other folks.

I think they should have used the character's of smallville with Erica durance and Tom welling i bet they would have been better
