Why do we always gravitate toward one another in social constructs? Is it for safety in numbers? That can't be true cause if theres more then 3 of us in a group we can be classified as a gang.

Its certainly better then being isolated, but I wonder what is it about us that makes us comfortable being real around each other, and putting on a facade with people who are not us.

I'm white, but have had African American friends. I think that Blacks are more social in their culture in general. They are closer knit in their family structures and usually have a stronger belief system. My Black friends are fiercely loyal and would do anything for me. My White friends would give up and move on if they thought things would get too complicated.

So basically, I believe it is the Black culture that makes them gravitate towards each other. I wish they would share more of their culture with others, then the giant mystery could be put to bed and take racism along with it forever.

Maybe you know a lot of people that immigrated from the same part of Africa that you did. Look at the world around you. People are more familiar or comfortable with their own culture/race than they are with others. Look at little Saigon, little Italy, little Havana and Chinatown among others.
