Be friendly. Greet them pleasantly.

Know all you can about the products that are for sale.

Find out just what they are looking for.
Be eager to show them around.

Learn how to tell when to just let them look. Check back with them from time to time.

Become good at making small talk. Pick up on little things they say. Ask them how the furniture will be used & how it fits into what they have.

Size up people. Learn how to deal with young single people
newly married, those with young children, older ones etc

Don't try to sell. Help them to buy.

Be friendly personable & knowlegeable about your product

It's obvious that they are looking for something when they come in the store. Just politely ask them what it is and help them out. Remember, to smile!!!!

IF THEY CAME INTO THE STORE THEY ALREADY HAVE A NEED, YOU JUST KEEP SHOWING THEM HOW MUCH MORE YOU CAN PROVIDE. ALWAYS BE AT YOUR BEST AND TELL THEM HOW MUCH MONEY YOU CAN SAVE THEM. KNOWING YOUR NUMBERS IS A SIGN OF A GOOD SALES PERSON
