Man all of you are wrong. G.O. even gave the link but got it wrong. And Old timer gave the most but got the team wrong.
And bellowscc you gave the link too but you got it wrong too. You looked at the most runs in the 1st inning by a team. You didn't look at any other inning.
Everyone was giving the most of the AL and that is by the Boston Red Sox. They scored 17 runs in the 7th inning on June 18, 1953 against Detroit.
But the most by any team in MLB, not just AL, was Chicago White Stockings (later turned into the Cubs. The White Sox now, just borrowed the name from them when they started in the AL league in 1900.). (Notice the record is 1883, 17 years before the actual white sox today, franchise)
They scored 18 runs vs. Detriot on September 06, 1883 in the 7th inning. 18 is the most runs scored in a inning by any MLB team.
