Kate Chopin is pronounced (kayt sho-PAN) because her last name's got a French-Creole accent. Also, she's very good reading.

Kate rymes with gate

Chopin is pretty much they way everybody else has said, but the 'cho' isnt like 'show' as in 'will you show me that' more like sho which rhymes with 'more' if you have a posh english acent, or raw if you have my accent. The 'pin' bit is pronounced 'pan' but with a real 'a' in the middle, not sounding like 'pen' (again if you have posh english accent)

Caitlin and Carly. I'm not a fan of spelling variations, especially ridiculous ones like Kaetlynne and Karleigh, but Kaitlin or Carley could be acceptable.

This site says her husband was Creole (French), so the French pronunciation of that would be like lapin (rabbit). Sort of like show-pin, according to my French speaking husband.
