...why are only little boys allowed to be comfortable? Shouldn't we stop being sexist and let our little girls be comfortable in the summer heat, too?

What you say makes sense to me, but it's society's standards, not specifically an individual's, so by all means shave your head if it makes you happy! But if you think about it - women & girls can wear short-shorts from late spring to early fall to keep their legs nice & cool, but men can't without being horribly made fun of. I think it goes both ways.

Shaved heads of any gender does not bring coolness--it brings sunburn! And if you think that sunblock should go on your head, it's bad enough that these chems are going into your bloodstream via the skin on your bod...look how close you are getting to the brain now!

Other than that little rant of fact, there is no reason your girl child should not have a shorter cut for summer if that is what SHE wishes...a little hair is better than none...it's a physical thing...hair provides means for sweat to cling to the skin to catch the breezes to cool off.

I have not met any little girls that actually want their heads shaved; I would not allow my son to shave his head.

A woman's hair is her glory. It defines the difference between male and female. It isn't a issue of sexist behavior.
