I think we're at war. That's my personal opinion. Unfortunately it may take another devastating event in this country for people to realize what we're up against. I believe there is an enemy and they will be there after this president is gone and after the next president is gone.
9-11 changed me. It made me want to give back to my country.

I don't think it helps the troops for people to criticize their mission. Personally I know that there are a whole bunch of them who don't care what those people [who criticize the mission] are saying.

We're insulated in this country. We've been under attack for 30 years. And hopefully it won't take another devastating event for us to realize that.

So enlist!

Give back to your country what your country, under your neocon regime, has given you.

I pray that one day our republic will revive and throw off the oligarchy to which it has recently succumbed.

But just be very clear what you are fighting for. Yes, this administration has invaded and is occupying the oil lands of Iraq.

No, they are not fighting against Terror. They are fostering a sense of Terror whenever they can, hoping that fear will win them more votes and more power.

If they WERE truly fighting terrorists, they would have done a better job in Afghanistan instead of redirecting their attention to the oil lands of Iraq; they would have found Osama bin Laden and have determined the responsibility of his Saudi family and leadership for his hatred and violence; they would be focusing funds, energy, and leadership in protecting the homeland (esp. ports, mass transportation) and building up alliances around the globe as they could easily have done after 9/11; they would have long ago insisted on a negotiated peace in the Middle East rather than supporting Israel in its attempted invasion and occupation of Lebanon; and they would be asking our whole country to sacrifice in defense of the whole country, instead of raising the deficit and the national debt to astronomical heights in order to reassign more and more wealth to the super-rich oligarchs at the expense of the working poor and their offspring in future generations.

So quit belly-aching about us **** liberals (and gaining a readership by pretending to be one of us with your chosen name). After all, we lost. Remember. You won. This is your war, not ours.

So enlist! Today!

Uncle Sam (or George or Dick or Don or Karl) wants YOU!

Enlist.

The overall goals and actions that lead us in a positive direction can be shrouded by the actions of certain individuals, none of which can be ok at any time. We loose sight of the reason we're there, although many feel it is wrong, the objective is right.

I'm with you. War is horrible, but it always has been...and always will be. Man has killed each other from the start, it is our weakness. I do believe we as men will be the cause of our own extinction. Sad...but I say if we have take lives to protect ourselves, might as well be good at it.
